Everyone wants to be productive, well most want to be super-rich. The question is how long it will take to become one of the few super-rich people in the world. The only way to get the answer is to ask the wealthiest of all how they made their billions and how long it took them.

The question is not only how they made their money but also how long it took to become the 15 richest worldwide. Jeff Bezos, the richest of all and the founder of Amazon is worth $131billion, and he claims it took him five years to become a billionaire.

Casino Billionaire – Sheldon Adelson

Sheldon Adelson’s journey to becoming a millionaire was 12 years long, and it took him 41 years to become a multi-millionaire worth $35.1billion. The man that is currently the 15th richest man in the world is the CEO and chairman of Las Vegas Sands, and he is a massive fan of Donald Trump. Adelson’s admiration for Trump was the motivation behind his donation of $123 million in one year to the Republican campaigners.

Hong Kong Property Tycoon – Huika Yan

Evergrande’s Huika Yan made his first million in just three years, and it took another 13 years to make his first billion. He is one of the most potent property tycoons in Hong Kong and at 51 he is worth $3.2 billion.

Yan sold half of his championship-winning football club in 2014 and donated $62 million to charity after he made $192 million from the Ma’s Alibaba Group.

Alibaba Founder – Jack Ma

Jack Ma is the found of Alibaba, which is the equivalent to the super successful Amazon. The 54-year-old is the first to ever become a millionaire within a year and a billionaire in under ten years. Ma’s fortune is worth an estimated $37.3 billion.

WeChat – Ma Hauteng

Mostly called Pony Ma, the chairman of Tencent Holdings and internet powerhouse in Chinese known for WeChat with over a billion users, made his first million in three years. Estimated worth $38.8 billion now, it took Hauteng just six years to earn his first billion.

Microsoft – Steve Ballmer

Steve Ballmer joined Bill Gates after he decided to drop out of Stanford and today the 63-year-old is worth $41.2 billion. Ballmer made his first million in six years and then became a billionaire within eight years. At first, he as the assistant to Gates and earned a salary at the beginning of $50,000 when he retired in 2014 and is still a 4% stakeholder in Microsoft.

Alphabet – Sergey Brin and Larry Page

The period it took Sergey Brin and Larry Page a year to become millionaires and five years to become billionaires. Larry Page is the CEO of Google’s holding company Alphabet and is now worth around $50.8 billion. Brin is now worth $49.8 billion, and the pair set up Google in 1998 when they received an investment of $100,000.
